Hi everybody! Carol here again. Well, Bob and I are at it again. We’re getting ready to take another cruise!
All the restaurants are humming along just fine. We keep poking our heads in just to make sure things are good, and it’s been surprising! Everything is going well! So well that we’re getting a little bored!
Oh, I have to tell you some big news – my youngest son and his wife are expecting their second child! I’m going to be a grandma for a fifth time! Whew, I’m feeling old! Mitzi is just a couple of months along, but of course I had to fly up and fuss over her for a few weeks. Their little one is 30 months old now, so I guess they were getting too much sleep! She is going to have her hands full with a baby and a toddler! I want to go up and help after the newest addition arrives, so Bob and I figure that now is a GREAT time to go out and spoil ourselves!
This time, we’re sailing off to the Western Caribbean. I’m so excited! This time, we get to leave from Miami. Tahiti was fabulous, don’t get me wrong, but the 13 hour flights I can live without! This cruise, we can just take a cab to the dock. We’ll be gone for seven nights this time. Here are our ports of call:
Day 1 – Miami
Day 2 – at sea
Day 3 – Belize City, Belize
Day 4 – Riviera Maya
Day 5 – Cozumel, Mexico
Day 6 – George Town, Cayman Islands (Grand Cayman)
Day 7 – at sea
Day 8 – Miami (back home!)
We’ve already booked the trip. We’re getting an ocean view cabin with a balcony. The balcony is a little extravagant, but we’ll try to spend a little time out there the first day. Really, the whole ship is practically one big balcony when you think about it! We hardly spend any time at all in the room. But Bob does like a nice room!
We did see some of these spots recently with the kids on the Disney cruise, but it’s different when it’s just me and Bob. There are LOADS of things to do in all those places, so Bob and I will get to see some stuff we missed last time. Bob wants to see some Mayan ruins this time around. He’s been after me to go to Mexico for awhile now. Unfortunately, the famous Mayan pyramids at Chichen Itza are at little too far for a one day stop on a cruise. But there are lots of other smaller ones to go see. We looked at shore excursions and we have plenty planned!
Our ship this time is called Explorer of the Seas. It sounds like a fun ship! There are lots of shows, parties, and an Italian restaurant that I’m looking forward to! Just one month to go and we’ll be on our way!
