Hello again! It’s been awhile since I wrote anything but we have been so busy. The kids all loved the Disney cruise idea, though our youngest is a little hesitant about the cost. He’s our baby, and he’s only been out of college for a couple of years, and he’ll have to fly his family to Orlando from Boise, and then there’s the cost of the cruise. Of course we want to pay for him, but he always has to do things himself. We finally made a deal with him – we’ll pay the airfare if he and his wife pay for the cruise.
The baby is only a year old, so she could sit on their laps on the flight and wouldn’t cost a thing, but heck, I am going to buy that child her own seat! I know how fussy babies get and that is one LONG flight to hold a baby the whole time! They’re putting aside a certain amount each month to make sure they can cover the cost of the cruise.
My daughter-in-law is a whiz when it comes to budgeting, and I know they’ll be okay. Hah, with the baby, I’m sure they’re saving a lot on eating out and going to movies lately! I’m proud of my son for wanting to be independent, but sometimes it would just be easier if he let Mom do more for him!
Our two daughters don’t have his problem with us helping out a little with expenses. I guess girls are always different. Bob still dotes on them, even though they’re well over 21! I think they’d both kill me if I put their ages in here, even if I left out their names.
Well, the girls don’t have so far to go, and I think one will drive to Florida with her husband and kids instead of flying. They’re in Georgia, so it’s not that far for them.
We’re taking the seven night cruise of the western Caribbean with Disney Cruise Lines. This will give us some great quality time with the kids and grandkids. We’ll be visiting Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Castaway Cay.
Of course Bob and I have been to all of those places before, but never to Castaway Cay. It looks lovely! It has a Family Beach and even a Teen Beach for our reluctant 15-year-old grandson. I love that the Disney Cruises are so family-oriented.
We have been on cruises in the past that were a little on the wild side. I feel better about going with Disney for a family cruise! We may still run into those people who drink too much and get up to all kinds of shenanigans, but I’m sure it won’t be so bad on the Disney cruise.
I’ll write more when I can! We’re off on our cruise in just two months!
